MELBOURNE TOMATO FESTIVAL 2015 was held on Sunday March 1st. It will be a gathering of local farmers selling produce, speakers, agriculturalists, master classes, Italian food, artisan producers, special guests, history, workshops, entertainment and passata making. In summary, it was an amazing day. Check out the film below to get an idea.
Meanwhile Outside worked with the Grossi family to shoot the Festival this year and the promotional video leading up to the festival. Thanks to Robert Pirina from Glenorie Bakery NSW for running his Saucy Sauce day for the footage used in the promo film. Thanks to Mark Chew Photography for all the photos below

Guy: As our lifestyles become increasingly busy we start to lose sight of our cultural aspects of our lives and our heritage. The Melbourne Tomato Festival is all about that spirit. Bringing people together to celebrate the harvest, enjoying themselves, learning about food, learning about our culture and our earth.
The Faranda family farm in Werribee, Vic is where the tomatoes for the festival are being grown. It’s a twenty minute drive from Melbourne and very much a part of the Italian cultural landscape. As part of the promotional film we paid the farm a visit and picked up some shots from the tomato plants in their infancy.
